Chef 1001 things
Born in Rishikesh, Yogi Ram grew up in a traditional Brahmin family. The wealth of Indian traditions was part of his life since he was a young boy. It was at this early age that he already felt a strong urge to delve deeper into the mysteries of nature and life.
Although different saints and Yogi’s crossed his path during his childhood, in high school and at university, the real turning point towards a holistic yogic life took place in his early twenties. While he was building up his music business Ram realized that his ‘modern life ambitions’ were not giving him the quality of life he was looking for. Peace and satisfaction were missing. This turned him back to his traditional roots. A long period of intense yoga sadhana and self-study followed."Welcome on the journey of Self cultivation. My passion for the Yogic Path is in my nature and I invite each and everyone of you who is willing to reconnect with themselves and to see themselves in totality (with their beautiful and shadow parts)." Yogi Ram
Swami Hanuman Giri (Guru ji) is Ram's mentor. Guru ji performed his sadhana back in the forest and high Himalaya for over 35 years. He was and still is completely focused on the science of Self Realization. His presence in the ashram is a tremendous blessing.
Teju is Yoga Master and Ayurvedic Therapist both. The combination of being in both disciplines makes that his knowledge and understanding of the bodily aspects of yoga is very complete.
He is this kind of being that inspires people with his humorous and active practices.
During Teacher Training Programs he shares his knowledge about Asana, Satkarma, Anatomy and Ayurveda. In his treatments you can experience his healing hands that are leading to a rejuvenated and relaxed body and mind.
Teju, was born in 1983 in New Tehri, a city situated 80 km Northeast from Rishikesh in the mountains.
He got his Master in Yoga and Ayurveda at the University Devsanskriti Viswavidhyalaya in Haridwar. Other degrees he got are: Diploma in Yogic Science; Diploma in Naturopathy; P.G. in Hindi.

"My friend and I traveled to India for the first time from the United States. We weren't sure what to expect and wanted an authentic ashram experience. After reading rave reviews, we decided to stay at the Himalayan Yog Ashram. We both were completely blown away by the genuineness of the staff and the experience as a whole. The meditations led by Ram still ring in my ears during my practice at home. I wish he had a Podcast so I could continue to hear his words on a daily basis. His mastery of understanding the challenges of our lives we left at home with career, relationships, family, and self was crucial. Ram is perfect blend of spiritual leader and mentor, while embodying compassion and understanding for a life outside of an ashram in the western world. The staff works together as a team to deliver life changing meditations, food, and a sacred space for connection and healing. This will not be last time visiting!"
